Order your Retractable Awning now for a quick install!

BAD NEWS- As you know, getting some materials in any industry has been a chore this year. We’re still running months out on some things.

THE GOOD NEWS- One of our suppliers just announced reduced lead times on their Retractable Awnings!

Futureguard is our deluxe awning supplier. They offer better warranties, more options, more colors, better customer support, and now better lead times than our other suppliers. They’re able to do this because they planned ahead, another great sign.

The basic idea I want to push is that you can get your Futureguard Awning, and we can install it fast in the next couple of weeks.

Here’s what they sent me in an e-mail-

The Season is Winding Down
We are shipping in 8 days.. or Less
With the end of summer in sight, we wanted to make sure you know all of our awning products are shipping in 8 days or less. Let us help you satisfy your customers now.  We are ready to fill your current and past due orders.

• Largest inventory of parts and fabrics
• Largest amount of factory production equipment
• Largest component and in house powder coating capacity
• Largest fabrication and a dealer support team

Remember, this ONLY applies to Futureguard Awnings, not the other brand that we carry.

Dave, the guy that wants you to enjoy your patio in the shade

NEW Awning Warranty INCLUDES Labor!

It’s not often that companies do MORE for you without charging more. One of our suppliers did this, so I wanted to pass on the news.

You may not realize it, but few manufacturer warranties cover labor as well as the parts. This is true for cars, appliances, and most consumer goods. With the suppliers we work with, it includes awnings, windows, doors, shingles, etc.

Sunbrella, one of the largest awning and outdoor fabric manufacturers in the world, just announced an expansion of their warranty to include labor. I could tell you more, but the article below from Specialty Fabrics magazine explains it all.

Just a couple of notes and read on for more info:

  • Sunbrella is not only MADE IN THE USA, but there is a Sunbrella factory right here in South Carolina, just outside of Anderson in the upstate.
  • Our only line of awnings that uses Sunbrella fabric is the upgraded Bel Air Awnings. Sunsetter Awnings DO NOT use Sunbrella fabric. Keep this in mind as you choose from our Good-Better-Best options for awnings.

UPDATE- We’re Discontinuing an Awning Line

I wanted to update everyone on a retractable awning change. For over a decade we’ve been a dealer for Sunsetter Awnings. We’re still remaining a dealer, but will no longer offer their laminated fabrics as part of our product line.

Sunsetter has two main acrylic awning fabrics, the laminated and the woven styles. Previously, we offered the laminated as our rock-bottom economy model and the woven as an upgrade for better colors and durability for only a few hundred dollars more.

Because of a great deal of problems with laminated fabrics last year, we will no longer offer the laminated colors or fabrics.

Don’t worry, we’ll still offer their woven acrylic fabric options of 32 colors and patterns. In addition, we also offer awnings from two other companies that have hundreds of color and pattern options.

You’ll have more than enough to choose from, but we wanted to make sure that you’re only choosing a quality product, rather than the cheapest available.

If you have a laminated fabric now and need a replacement at any point, the woven fabrics fit perfectly into your existing awning frame with no issues.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Dave, the awning guy with ALL the color options

SAFETY NOTICE- Retractable Awnings

Normally I enjoy having a lot of fun with these e-mails or telling you about neat new products, but occasionally I need to update you on safety related items.

We just received the notice below from Sunsetter Awnings. Many of you might have also received it in the mail as well.

Apparently, there have been some injuries reported when people improperly removed their awning covers. I haven’t actually seen the reports, but I’m guessing folks hit the button for the awning to come out but forgot the cover was still attached. Then they tried removing the cover without retracting the awning. And…POW! The awning cover pops off, the awning pops out, and the owner gets knocked off a ladder.

You can see how this could range from a slight injury to something much more serious, especially on an elevated deck in the photo. We installed two awnings on this deck, and it’s a big drop to sea level.

So please be careful if you have a removable awning cover. If you do have one, but would prefer for us to retrofit your awning with a permanent aluminum hood cover, just give us a call. You can see the hood on the photo above.

Thanks,

Dave
