We have a big huge ginormous announcement about Ocean Breeze Exteriors!
Dave Sr. is retiring, and is looking to sell the exterior remodeling business.
Many of you have worked with my dad for years. That’s him up there on the right, leaning on the company’s first work truck. He started the company way back in 1987 when we were all much younger, and I still had hair. He’ll be 70 this year and decided it’s time to hand it over. It’s not only that though.
Many of you may not, but Dave Sr. suffered a minor stroke a month ago. He’s recovered now, so don’t worry, but it scared all of us. He eventually would’ve retired at some point, but the stroke was a wake up call. He’s got lots of traveling he still wants to do, so it’s time to pass on the business.
I wanted to announce this publicly because, as our customers, you should know what’s going on, especially if you have jobs in progress right now.
I want you to know that both me and my dad will be hand-picking the new owner and not just selling to anyone who comes along with some cash. We’ll be making sure they’re as qualified as we are to lead the company and pick up where we are. We also want to make sure you’ll get the same service.
We have lots of potential areas of expansion that are planned in coming years, so we also want to get a new owner in that has the energy to put those new ideas into action. As a matter of fact, we started construction on a new updated showroom just this month.
The area below will be completely remodeled as a glass sunroom. We’re also remodeling the workshop area to be more accessible to tours of our manufacturing space.
Now that the main announcement is over, I have something to ask.

Here’s some basic info if you want to pass it on:
- Our main product lines are sunrooms and shade (pergolas, patio covers, awnings, etc).
- We average around a million dollars a year with less than a dozen employees.
- We do over 400 projects annually.
- There isn’t a slow season. We work year-round.
- We do enough infrastructure and facility-related projects to stay classified as an Essential Business in disasters.
