Lumber Prices are Causing Panic Attacks!

Lumber Prices are Causing Panic Attacks!

We’ve had to raise prices recently on just about everything we do here at Ocean Breeze Exteriors.

Be sure to read to the end of this…I have a way to keep you down for the current pricing.

Supply chains and workforce issues plagued us last year as COVID policies shut down many of the factories that supply us with windows, awnings, and lumber. Well, COVID isn’t done with us yet. Supply chains for materials are now being affected secondarily.

In other words, initial supplies are out, and now the factory slowdowns of last year are really affecting us.

In addition, raw material pricing is going way up. I’m talking lumber at the source when it still has bark on it kind of materials. Below is an email from one of my suppliers that explains more-

We’re having to raise prices because of that. When prices normalize, we’ll cut ours back as much as we can.

***EXTRA*** Here’s how I’m going to try and help you out.

If we’ve done an estimate for you already, if you sign your contract and send in the required deposit by the end of the month, I’ll hold to the price we gave you on the ORIGINAL estimate.

If you delay past May 31, 2021, your price will go up.

I’ll lose some money on this, but I want to honor those estimates for you.

Please call with any questions.

Thanks,

Dave

PS- To help alleviate things with a little humor, here’s a couple of memes on the whole situation.

Who Wants a Discount at Lowe’s?

Lowe’s is our common supplier for building materials that we don’t have to special order.

Need wood for a deck…we go to Lowe’s

Need insulation…we go to Lowe’s

Need a new tape measure…we go to Lowe’s

As a business, our spending at Lowe’s comprises a major chunk of our purchases. That’s why we enjoy our discount there.

I don’t know if you knew this, but veterans enjoy a 10% discount. Myself and our owner are proud veterans, so we registered for the program. I wanted to pass that news onto our customers as well, so you could too. Don’t worry, Lowe’s isn’t paying me for this post. I just want to help you out.

  1. You can go to Lowe’s and grab a MyLowes card, register your veteran card at customer service, and you’re in. I used my VA card.
  2. If you want to do it online, go to lowes.com/military and do it there.

Disclaimer- I want you to get your discount on appliances, tools, etc, but if you need a project done like a deck or a door install, you’ll definitely be better off giving us a call.
